Wonderful... right what I needed.

I'm having this problem with my Diablo II discs.. I let a person I know play it after I quit playing DII over a year ago.. Got the CD's back yesterday, and they are quite badly damaged...
The installation keeps getting stuck on files d2data.mpq and d2char.mpq...

The problem is quite easy to solve..
I need to get those two files out of there manually, and move em into the DII folder... but ofcourse, I can't when I have a big fat scratch right where the file is located on the disc..

So.. Im asking if someone could do that for me?

You would have to put in the Install Disc and open "My Computer"... right click on the icon with the DII cd, and select 'Search'. Then type in d2data.mpq and copy the file into your Documents.
Then you do the same with 'Play Disc', this time the file you copy is d2char.mpq.
Then.... I would need that person to send me those two files for example over msn.

Could someone please do that for me?
I know it can take a bit of time, and considering the fact that there is nothing I can pay back with, most will probably ignore this request.
BUT, if there IS someone willing to help me with this, you have my thanks.

How big are those files roughly? The problem for me would not be getting the files but transfering them over a rather slow connection.

Its kinda funny how some parts of USA are so behind.. Like compare Texas with New York.. its.. odd..
